My husband David
We will celebrate 30 years of marriage in July 2019!
I always say my writing career started when I wrote my first song at the age of 7. The song has long been forgotten (thank goodness), but the desire to use words to express my creativity, has not.
Since then, my writing has been focused on encouraging women through Bible studies, blogging, as well as, print and online magazine articles.
After blogging for 8 years, I turned my attention to the book my family had been asking me to write - a book about homeschooling.
I didn't want to write it! I was burned out on the topic, but I knew, after 20 years of teaching, that I could offer some answers to women coming behind me on their own journey, so I decided to do it. And, you know what? It was one of the most satisfying projects I've done so far!
So what's next?
This next season will be filled with more writing, for sure, but carefully squeezed in between my kids, marriage, grand babies and ordinary days, which are the best.
To know the personal side of me, you have to know first, that my faith is THE thing about me that fuels everything else.
My faith in Jesus Christ is the source of anything in my life worth mentioning.
And if Jesus is the source; my family is the result.
They are my day-in-day-out, full-time job, and I wouldn't trade my job for any amount of money.
(Although, a little bit of quiet is nice, now and then).
My husband, David and I, have been married for nearly 30 years and we have 2 sons, a DIL and 3 granddaughters to prove it.
Life is a fun mix of loud (with all the toddlers running around) and quiet evenings on the couch watching our favorite shows, when everyone is gone.
Our nest is on it's way to being empty within the next few years, but we plan to stay close by continuing our Monday night Family Dinners, our rowdy games of Phase 10, going to church together, holidays and lots of babysitting.
In between all of that, I'll be writing and creating, because it's something I can't go long without doing.
So, check back for new publications - maybe a new book, mini-zines, and who knows what else!
And, for sure, catch me on Instagram. It's where I like to hang out when I want to catch up with everyone else.
Until Next Time......
