A Sunday Stroll

Does anyone else just get a Fall feeling when you hear the word Vermont? Is it just me? Ok. Well, when I saw these muffins in the King Arthur magazine, I knew I had to try them. I mean, when you add the word Vermont and the words maple and pecan to the mix, what can possibly be wrong?

They definitely lived up to their name - in yumminess and cozy muffin and coffee vibes. In other words, they were delicious!

Sunday I was tired. I guess from the busy week we had, then the baby coming along and all that entails. By Sunday all I wanted to do was be at home and move at my own pace. I needed to catch up on laundry and other things that I had been moving around on my calendar all week and Sunday seemed the perfect day to give myself a head start into the new week.

I did accomplish some things on my list, plus cooking a great lunch, and by the end of the day I realized I had not been outside all day. So just before the sun went down for good, I strolled around the yard and snapped some shots of some of my favorite places and views.

Well, with the exception of the construction zone under the gazebo area. David is using this as his tool/board cutting area while he's renovating the bathroom. We don't have a carport or garage, so this is the only covered area where he can put things while he's working. He has to share the space with all of the toddler cars, wagons and other ride along toys, but you have to work with what you've got, right?

Anytime I can catch a picture of the old, green boat, I do. This was actually David's boat when he was a kid and he had given it to a friend of ours, years ago. When that friend passed away, his wife told David to come and get the boat and we will always treasure it, for that reason.

This is our front yard, which is definitely on my very long list of "what to do here." I'm not a fan of the playset. It's an eye sore to me. The girls basically only play on the swings, so I think I would rather have some rope swings and maybe a hammock somewhere. I just want everything to look cozy and inviting, and this just isn't doing it for me. I'm open to suggestions!

And, one more shot in my junk garden. This old pump was given to me by my friend Kim and it's perfect, right down to the color. I just sat it here on this wooden cooler and that's where it has stayed for now. I keep thinking that I need to get outside and pretty up the garden, but it's still getting in the high 90's here and until it gets cooler outside, I'm not going out!
Well, that's it for a Sunday stroll around the yard. I'm not sure what this week holds, but I do know that Thursday is my birthday and my home will be filled with most of my favorite people - my kids and grandbabies - and that will be worth celebrating!
Until Next Time...
Blessings!
