A Fun Clock and a Quirky Basket

There's a nice sized antique store in our little town and I like to go there now and then to see what treasures I can find at a bargain price. This week, as I took my time going down each aisle, I thought about how my style has changed over the years. But one thing that hasn't changed is that I like quirky things.

I am often drawn to things that have a quirky side to them, such as this random clock that says "strawberry soda". But it's more than just the quirky that catches my eye; it's the memories that pop up when I see something like this.

This clock reminded me of being a kid, hanging out at my dad's gas station and drinking soda out of glass bottles that you pulled out of the machine. You had to use a bottle opener to get them open and the soda machine had a glass door on the side, where the necks of the bottles stuck out for your selection.

When I saw the clock, I knew I would think of that memory every time I looked at it, so I bought it for my kitchen and now it hangs just above the sink.

On the other hand, here's a basket of random items that have no memories attached, yet still had a quirky feel to them, so of course I had to bring them home. Afterall, the basket tag said, "all items included...$10.00". How could I pass up two embroidered dishcloths, two spools of string and two random doilies? Could you? Oh! And the basket was included! Even better.

Now to figure out where to put it all. I feel like they should stay together. I mean, it was their togetherness that caught my eye. Hmmm...only time will tell.

Though my style has evolved over the years, I still have a tendency to lean toward the whimsical and quirky side of things. It just makes life seem fun. Don't you think?

Until Next Time...

Blessings!
